Areas Of Focus

Life can be very challenging right now for children, teens, and adults. In my experience struggling to connect with others can have a profound impact on a person’s functioning. Anxiety, low mood, parenting difficulties, not fitting in with peers, relationship struggles, trauma and a host of other challenges limit or prevent you from creating authentic connections. Any one of these can make getting through each day difficult and feel like there is no hope for change. There is work that can be done to create change, engage in life, and improve relationships.

In my work with children, teens, and adults I have helped create a space where people feel comfortable talking about their lives and move toward the change they are seeking. This is done by creating a judgment free space where they can talk openly about their thoughts, feelings, and experiences.

I have been in the field of mental health since 2018 and a social worker since 2006. My primary approach to therapy is CBT but I also draw on ACT and motivational interviewing. For individuals who have experienced PTSD I provide trauma specific treatment.

At your first appointment I will spend time getting to know you, learn why you are seeking therapy at this time, and discuss any changes you are hopeful to create. This is an opportunity for you to determine if you are comfortable working together on your goals.

I am a registered social worker (MSW), CACBT-ACTCC-Certified in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, and in the process of becoming a Certified CPT therapist.

My areas of focus include:
children, youth & adults | general supportive counselling
anxiety | low mood | trauma for children & youth (TF-CBT) and adults (CPT) | parenting skills

A 15 minute consult call can be arranged if you have questions or want to determine fit.

I’m a busy mom of two teens and work very hard to stay active for my own mental health.
